If I am Dreaming, Don’t wake me up….
Once upon a time, an ambitious woman entered a successful store with a
reputation for outstanding, fine quality merchandise. She walked RIGHT up
to the owner and said, “Sir, I am very impressed with your establishment. I’d
like to come on board and build a career here. I can promise you that I’ll
work hard and I’ll do a great job. In return, all I ask for is the
following:
· First, I’d like 35% profit on everything I sell
· I refuse to be a pushy sales person and will only work by “letting the
products sell themselves”
· I would like the opportunity to earn free products, jewelry, and other
fabulous items every month based on my sales
· Then, for every person I bring in and train I would like to make at least
4% off of everything they sell right away, plus bonuses. And I’d like my
percent to increase as I work harder!
· Now, when I do well I expect praise and recognition left and right –
not to mention products, special awards and gifts – Oh yes – and a white
Mercedes Benz!
· By the way, I’m afraid I’m not into that 9 to 5 scene – so, I’ll want to
set my own schedule and work when it suits me best
· And of course – my family always comes first!
Okay that’s about it – so can I start RIGHT AWAY?”
After the store owner recovered from shock he roared with laughter. “Lady,
you can’t be serious! You’re living in a dream world. You’ll never find
and opportunity like that anywhere!”
The woman left the store in a huff determined to prove him wrong!
The next day the lady received a phone call from her friend …. “Do you have
